Tribal: Get Out Alive + Q&A with cast and crew

For our main feature this year we are proud to present the hard-hitting action horror film ‘Tribal: Get Out Alive’, the latest feature from FSFF alumni Matt Routledge. One of the standout independent British movies of 2020, this film has already garnered a significant following, and we look forward to seeing it on the big screen. The film will be followed by a Q&A with the cast and crew.
Synopsis:
Elite military personnel Caitlin Ross retires from service after suffering from PTSD. Along with former team member and close friend Brad Johnson, they opted for the 'easy life' and now lead a small security firm. The company is hired by young, troublesome millionaire Richard Kenning to clear and secure the land and property he has recently inherited. Rumours and stories surrounding the land and buildings are dismissed until people start disappearing and the team end up locked in with no escape. It soon becomes apparent they are being hunted and the race is on to get out alive.
Fighter in the Wind

For our classic feature this year we are presenting the Korean karate film ‘Fighter In The Wind’. Considered to be one of Korea’s finest martial arts films, this film is based on the real-life story of Choi Bae-Dal, a Korean who moved to Japan and became a Karate pioneer, founding the Kyokushin style, which is now considered to be the first and most influential style of full contact karate.
Synopsis:
A young Korean man arrives in Japan near the end of World War II with hopes of being a fighter pilot, but ends up on the streets battling racism, organised crime, occupying American servicemen, and his own fear of failure as a martial artist.
Seminar: The Dead End Trilogy

For the first time, audiences can see the entire Dead End trilogy back to back, including the UK premiere of the final instalment. This screening will be a special seminar where a few of the cast and crew will be joining us after the films to talk about the series, and their experiences of working on it.
Synopsis:
Two contract killers known only by their identities The Contractor and Young Gun, infiltrate a human trafficking ring in China by orders of the British Secret Service). Their objective is to make the leading players in a global operation disappear but their mission doesn’t go to plan, and a brutal and bloody battle attracts the attention of young Chinese girl living off the proceeds of petty crime - herself a victim of human trafficking. Over the course of three 25 minute episodes we follow the Contractor and Young as the body count rises.
